Shipping policy

Delivery Location Freight delivery drivers can deliver to your driveway or garage as long as there is clearance and your driveway and street are flat. If you have a driveway that is inaccessible by freight or pallet jack (long driveways, driveways made of gravel, dirt, low hanging tree branches, street on an incline, etc), your pit delivery may be limited to the curb. Please communicate any possible hurdles before purchasing your pit so we can provide the best delivery service possible.

Lead Time We will ship your pit as soon as possible. Current lead time for a pit to leave our facility is 3 business days. If you need us to delay shipping, please include a note during checkout or contact us after placing the order.

Transit Time After your pit leaves our facility, it will head toward a freight terminal closest to your address using a carrier of our choosing. Depending on your location, transit time to your local terminal is typically 3~7 business days. Delays in delivery is possible and delivery time is not guaranteed. Delay in delivery is not grounds for cancellations or refunds.

Tracking A Tracing link will be sent after the carrier picks up your pit. It may take up to 24 hours for tracking information to be sent to the email address you have provided. Not all freight carriers provide live tracking links but every delivery is booked with an appointment required to ensure that you are available for the delivery window.

Delivery Appointment For Residential Delivery, the freight carrier will give you a call to schedule your delivery window with you once it arrives at your local terminal. For Commercial Delivery, the carrier will deliver as soon as possible, unless a delivery appointment is requested during check out. Most freight carriers deliver Monday-Friday and offer a 4-hour delivery window. Delays in delivery is possible and delivery time is not guaranteed.

Proof of Delivery (POD) YOU MUST INSPECT THE PIT BEFORE SIGNING THE POD. The top is secured with two bands. Cut the bands with a pair of scissors and lift the cardboard top off to inspect your pit. The crate is meant to protect your pit during transit. Damages to the crate or pallet does not mean your pit is damaged. If you see any damages to the pit, you must notate it on the POD before signing. Then, refuse delivery.  Share this information with anyone that may be accepting your delivery. Every pit is insured during delivery, however, in the rare case that there is damage, failure to notate damages on the POD at the time of delivery will prohibit us from being able to correct the issue.

Non Delivery Failure to schedule a delivery appointment with the carrier will incur storage fees. These fees are responsibility of the customer and not Franklin BBQ Pits. Most carries will attempt to contact you for two days before storage fees are applied.

Packaging Pits are banded to a pallet and crated, weighing about 770 lbs. Shipping a Franklin BBQ Pit requires specific truck sizes and liftgates that can only be accommodated by a limited number of freight carriers.
